The Saginaw Eddy Concert Band is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Radtke as its 2016 Season Musical Director.
Joseph Radtke is adjunct instructor of trombone at Alma College and currently serves as instrumental music teacher for the Breckenridge Community School district. His career includes teaching and directing jazz bands, concert bands, marching bands, general music classes, choral music, chamber ensembles and individualized instrumental instruction. He is the founder of the Summer Jazz Institute; an organization dedicated to giving local student and adult musicians the opportunity to perform jazz during the summer.
Joseph studied trombone with Dr. Robert Lindahl at Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2005 and a Masters in Music Education in 2014.
Joseph Radtke is also an active freelance trombonist and conductor. Currently, Joseph is the second trombonist with the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra and Midland Symphony Orchestra and he is principal trombone for the Baroque on Beaver Island Festival. Joseph also conducted the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band's Christmas Concert of 2015.
